The cities of Fort Collins, Colo., and Ottawa, Canada, will officially recognize June 30, 2012, as Social Media Day. Elaine Lindsay of Ottawa and Julia Senesac of Fort Collins led the push for Social Media Day in their respective cities.

Lindsay and Senesac met early in 2011 through while receiving their certification training with Relationship Marketing Institute. Together they started a joint company, Market Me Local.
